Turn a song file into an iPhone ringtone

Updated . How we check these numbers

Quick answer: Tap Music file, pick a song from the Files app, and Ringtonius opens it on the loudest stretch with a 20-second window selected. Drag the brass handles to the part you want (up to 30 seconds), add fades, preview, and tap Save ringtone.

How it works

  • It starts where the song does. Instead of 0:00, the selection opens on the loudest 20 seconds, which is usually the chorus.
  • You can’t go over 30 seconds. The window stops at the iPhone’s limit, so a saved tone always works.
  • What you hear is what you save. Preview plays the exact rendered tone, fades included.
  • Saved as M4A, the format iOS 26’s Use as Ringtone accepts.

Where the song comes from

Songs you bought from the iTunes Store, MP3s from Bandcamp or Amazon, your own band’s mixes, or tracks you made in GarageBand or Suno. If a song won’t open, it’s probably a protected Apple Music download; see why Apple Music songs can’t be ringtones.
